Co-Founder, Principal
Martin Nussbaum is the Co-Founder and Principal of Slate Property Group. He brings nearly three decades of experience in real estate investment, development, and operations nationwide. He leads the firm’s strategic direction, oversees all business lines and investment activities, manages capital market relationships, and drives organizational growth.
Since its founding in 2013, Slate has completed more than $9 billion in total transactions and developed over 8,500 housing units. The firm’s portfolio spans equity and debt investments, ground-up developments, adaptive reuse projects, and credit fund platforms. Martin has been instrumental in building Slate’s integrated business lines—leveraging organic growth, technology, and proprietary data to enhance investment performance and scalability.
Before co-founding Slate, Martin was Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Silverstone Property Group, a vertically integrated real estate owner and operator. Earlier in his career, he worked for Atlantic Realty Development Corporation and at Wells Hill Partners.
Martin serves on the Advisory Board of NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, the Board of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and the Board of Belev Echad, an international nonprofit supporting wounded members of the Israel Defense Forces. He earned his degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
